About

January 2nd, 2008

My name is Kevin Zak. I’m a seventeen-year-old computer technician living in Nebraska. I run my own computer repair business, which is a division of a local shop that formerly employed me. I am also an amateur web programmer. I focus primarily on PHP, but I am optimistic about learning other languages in the future. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, playing basketball, and debating politics. I currently support the Democratic party, but I have no official affiliation, mostly because of my age.

I am an active Ubuntu enthusiast. Ubuntu is a Linux distribution focusing on usability and freedom in the sense of monetary value and open source. Nearly all of my work is created and maintained using Kubuntu, the KDE derivative of Ubuntu.  I am a member of the Ubuntu documentation team and I collaborate with others to maintain the wiki and the help articles on both the website and the OS itself.

I am an open source advocate, and I believe in the concept of freedom.
