I chose EEng with a math minor. I allows me to understand more about the physical sciences, math, engineering and general logic. Liberal arts will lead you to a path of rhetoric, not necessarily knowledge. Thomas Jefferson our president #3 was an architect, farmer, astronomer, and lawyer, etc. He knew more than just rhetoric.... I work on my car, bike, house, stereo system, etc. maybe that's just me and my upgringing, or my degree.... any way, the choice is yours. lemme know if you have any questions, thoughts, or other.......Ciao!!

Your logic behind electing to major math (that it offered more prospects for a teaching job) is the basis behind why I lean more towards primarily starting out in law. While I.T. is a very broad field, the employment opportunities are relatively narrow. Generally, one chooses between technician, research, management, or consultancy. By comparison, one with a law degree could pursue any number of careers in a multitude of fields.

I had similar difficulties when it came to choosing what to do after high school. Oh, I knew which university I'd attend. I had no intention of leaving my city when it already had a university with all the programs I needed. My choice was between math and English--I would study both, but which one would be my major? Ultimately, I chose math because it will improve my prospects for getting a job as a teacher. However, this choice agrees with what I would have chosen based on my feelings toward the subjects. I love reading and English with a passion, but I prefer studying math. And I can still do both.

You're very smart, and as such you'd be an asset to whichever profession you select. Also keep in mind that new opportunities to synthesize your interests will always come along, especially in the I.T. world, because it's changing so fast. You could always go to law school, work as a lawyer for a couple years, then get something like a business degree and transition into the I.T. industry that way. Your knowledge of the law would definitely be an advantage.
